He called the fuckers out for what they are: a bunch of partisan scumbags, personally ambitious, with nothing but their own political dogma to guide them. Unfortunately, it will fall on deaf ears in the corridors of power as well as the heartland.
We are doomed as a nation as we are too divided to get anything done.

Zombieland comes out tomorrow and I am psyched. The Nomad clan will be seeing the matinee on Saturday and we can't wait!

It can't be as good as the two greatest "funny" zombie movies ever (Shaun Of The Dead and The Passion Of The Christ), but I am sure it will be kick ass. The zombies in Zombieland don't follow the "Romero rules" (ie- slow, shuffling ambulatory sacks of meat). On the other hand, Woody fucking Harrelson is the star. And unless you're gonna get Kurt fucking Russell as Snake fucking Plisskin to kill zombies, old Woody is a great pick! If he's half as bad ass as he was in Natural Born Killers, than Zombieland is gonna rule.

In other walking dead news, imma gonna see Bruce Springsteen Friday nite at Giants Stadium. The Boss in New Joisey. I feel 30 IQ points dumber already!

The missus was feelin' a might down yesterday. So, after work, we did the 15 minute drive to the beach (a trip that we do not take nearly enough). Figured, the sea air, the sand and some of these would put a smile back on her face.

Which it did.

But not as much as discovering that the amphitheatere in the distance was featuring one of those odd combo-bands nites. Cheap Trick, Poison and Def Leppard.

Somehow, the winds were right and we had perfect audio clarity for the music.

The crime of course was that Cheap Trick was the opener, instead of the closer. But that worked out nicely for us, as we enjoyed (did I mention the perfect audio clarity???) a nice set of classic American Power-Pop featuring just about everything that you and I would want to hear (except they didn't play "He's A Whore"). Plus they did a sweet take on the Beatles "A Day In The Life".

And the beer ran out just as Poison was taking the stage. Which worked out fine, since Poison is effing awful (and sounded it) and this gave us a perfect excuse to vacate the beach and head for sudsier pastures.

The Pool of Serenity

My summer solstice resolution is to not add fuel to the argumentative fire. I pledge to just walk away from Ms. Nomad's occasional bouts of verbal onslaughts ... NO MATTER HOW RIGHT I AM!!!!! It might have taken me 20 years to figure it out, but resistance is useless. There is no "win" scenario, at best a Pyhrric victory might be possible. I have a wise older cousin, who has fought the marital wars for longer than I, and he always advised me to just AVOID CONFLICT at all costs.

So... I will walk away when confronted with the chaos that results from two people being married for a looooonnnnggggg time..

Or, drift away. The pool is finally up and running... despite it's best attempts at putting me in the asylum. The leaks in the gaskets have been patched and seem to be holding, amazing what a tube of this stuff can do! At one point last week, after failing to get the deck re-attached, I just gave up and went to mow the lawn and curse the very day that swimming pools were invented; leaving the hard work to Ms. Nomad and Princess Nomad.

Whom of course were able to complete said task with-out Mr. Asshole's help.
I spent the weekend on the Big Daddy float, drinkin' this stuff and listening to Led Fukking Zeppelin.

Sooo, for this summer, it's just beer and frozen drinks and serenity now.

Having some real sleep related issues as of late. I have always been a very vivid dreamer. But lately, it's been a nite at the frikkin movies everytime I get shut eye. And the dreams are so intense that I'm more tired than ever when I wake up. As an added bonus, I am having trouble differentiating my dream state from reality with regard to my memories. There have been quite a few times where I think back to events and I am sure that things I dreamed about actually happened.
Whether is is stress related or brought on by a significant reduction in my consumption of intoxicants is up for debate.
