Just to prove your point further, I went to the Knicks game last night, and sure enough what song did they play -- in its entirety -- to fire up the crowd during a 4th quarter timeout? That's right, Blitzkrieg Bop, by those 4 Queens misfits Da Bruddas Ramone!
wow. The Ramones really kicked it into overdrive for that final version. I kinda get the feeling maybe they were sick of it and just wanted to move on.
aikan- it was a point of pride for johnny that the band actually got faster over the years on blitzkrieg bop! that last show was a disaster on many fronts according to the new joey ramone bio written by his brother "i slept with joey ramone" - bad feelings that there were "guests" on stage, that it was in LA rather than NY, etc. After the last song (you can see it on the vid of the last show) joey and johnny walk off the stage in different directions and don't even look at each other. so sad when "brothers" fight!

as I am sure you know, Johnny Ramone was a huge baseball fan. He must have been thrilled when Blitzkrieg Bop became such a traditional song at games.
