All I Know Is That When Bush Was President...

I had a job. And now I don't. Can't wait to see what our leader says tonight. I wish he would just denounce all the Republicans and put them in detention camps. Those bastards fucked everything up and Obama's got to clean up their mess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
post speech follow-up: Obama was terrific... funny, sarcastic, barbed, hopeful. He called the fuckers out for what they are: a bunch of partisan scumbags, personally ambitious, with nothing but their own political dogma to guide them. Unfortunately, it will fall on deaf ears in the corridors of power as well as the heartland.
We are doomed as a nation as we are too divided to get anything done.

Here's some power pop. You know why? Because it's bright and cheery... just like me.

ps- You know that whole story about Toyota recalling all of the Camry's they've sold in the last 4 years? Well, guess who just finished paying off their car loan for a Toyota Camry?

I was and am a big Obama supporter. Somehow tonight his speech left me wanting more, even though he touched on all of the things I wanted to hear - esp. corporate outsourcing which i how I lost my job. But if his intention was to make me feel more hopeful, he didn't succeed. Perhaps the reason was, as you say, the knowledge that for the most part, I knew his words were falling on deaf ears. Tomorrow and forever, politics is politics and it will be bullshit as usual.

Thought it was a good speech as well. Remember that Reagan was even more unpopular his first few years, had his own big recession to deal with. He responded by throwing my old man and thousands like him off his disability pension for a few years until a court reversed it. That's why I would never vote Republican, never have, never will, and can't stand most of the selfish bastards with extreme prejudice.

Republican or Democrat, They are all self-serving asses. They don't give a shit about you and I, not even the great Obama. All they care about their own personal agendas. Until the American population comes to grips with this, this country and it politics will always be broken.

Come on, be real, the only way for him to get this country to act more in a bi-partisan way is to offer the brides to all members of congress, not just one side.

Th State if the Union seemed like Obama trying to stop his own bleeding, the address in Baltimore looked like him making the other side start to bleed. Good on him.
