Songs About Fucking- GO ALL THE WAY

The Raspberries great 1972 hit (#5 on the Billboard Hot 100) was banned by the BBC due to it's sexually implicit lyrics. Awesome chunky chords and an almost chorus like intro by Eric Carman on the vox. As fantastic as the song is, (I almost) prefer the 2009 Matthew Sweet/Susanna Hoffs duet, in which Hoff's singing makes the song oh so hotter.

I never knew, never knew how complete love could be
Till she kissed me and said

“Baby, please, go all the way
It feels so right being with you, here, tonight
Please, go all the way
Just hold ‘me close don’t ever let me go “

I couldn’t say what I wanted to say

Till she whispered “I love you so, please, go all the way”
It feels so right being with you, here, tonight
Please go all the way
Just hold me close
Don’t ever let me go

Before her love I was cruel and mean

I had a hole in the place where my heart should have been
But now I’ve changed and it feels so strange
I come alive when she does all those things to me

And she says, “Come on, come on, come on
I need you, I love you, I need you”

“Baby, please, go all the way

It feels so right being with you, here, tonight
Please, go all the way
Just hold ‘me close don’t ever let me go “

I kind of resented this song when I was a hormone driven lad. It starts out so kick ass and then it turns all romantic. I did not need love. I needed lunch as certain bad boys would have it.
If you like songs about doing it I have a file to share with you. "The Best of Southern Soul Blues" on Ecko Records. I found a copy in a cut out bin for pennies. Nothing but songs about screwing. It's music for poor people about the kind of fun that anyone can afford. This, incidentally is not a reissue of rare vintage authentic etc. All of the artists are alive and playing juke joints tonight. Watch the mail.

Matthew Sweet's singing on this sucks. I think the version that the Fastbacks did is much better.
