Who Watches The Watchmen

Are you pumped? I sure am! March 6, 2009, unless the douchebags at Fox prevent it. The trailers look awesome. Zach Snyder seems to have a respect for the source material, both visually and thematically.

Nazz junior just read Watchmen for the first time and he is totally psyched as well.

The world will look up and shout "SAVE US" and I'll whisper "NO"

That leaves me with just two months to track down my "Ego Ipses Custode Custudio" pin

Looks like Nazz Junior has excellent taste (just like his old man :-), I keep telling my kids they should read this. I bought these as comics when they came out years ago and loved it so much that a couple of years ago I got the hardback absolute edition, I have lost count how many times i have read it. Can't wait for the film.

I had a bang on about the Watchmen film over at my gaff a while back (here)... I still would much rather they wern't making it - sometimes things should just be left alone. The trailers do look good I have to admit, but then most trailers look ok, even for really bad films!

I'll have to go see it, but get very nervous when they mess with my personal faves.

I have some faith in the director... I like what he did with 300 visually and felt that his remake of Dawn Of The Dead was alot of fun.
He's been interviewed admitting that he is aware of what's at stake with Watchmen... if it is anything less than very good I would be shocked.
I kind of look at it similarly to when the mini-series of The Stand came out... another "untouchable" book. As a TV movie, The Stand was of course much lower budget, but I felt the material was treated very reverentially.

definitely excited about this-- i need to break out our copy and reread it, though- haven't in a few years. while i don't have any real ideas of how it's gonna be content-wise, i trust the director to make sure it will look good (which is how i felt about 300)- and i really had fun with his dawn of the dead remake, so i'm going in, i think in the end, expecting, on one hand, quite a bit, but knowing it's a tall order.

thanks for posting this trailer, i hadn't seen it yet!
