A Modern Man's Regimen

Morning- happy pill.
Get to work - several cups of coffee
Lunch
After lunch - more cups of coffee
Pre Train - beer
On Train - beer
Post Train - bliss
Home - Beer
Dinner
Post Dinner - Beer
Nite - Sleeping Pill.

Rinse, Repeat.

Sorta like my very own 12 step program, but I missed one rung somewhere.

Nobody seems to know what's going on lately. Reminds me of this scene:

For some reason I can relate this this, except the beer, not allowed this on the no carb diet I'm on .. sucks.

If you count "rinse, repeat" it's a 12 step program.

Michael - The happy pill is essential. After all, how could I expect beer and lunch and coffee to make me happy!

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw: two guys in suits sitting at a bar with a drink each. One of them looks worn out and he's saying to the other, "I wake up at 6am screaming and I'm in work by 9."

One of my all time fave scenes from an all time fave movie. Back in the day, we wanted to do Apocalypse Now like The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Throw little sticks at the screen when they shoot little sticks at the boat and then all say, "A fuckin' spear." Have you ever read 'Dispatches' by Michael Herr? He wrote the dialogue for AN. The scene above was based on a real incident that Herr witnessed. Herr was a journalist who embedded himself with combat troops in Viet Nam. At the time, the army frowned on that sort of thing, but he would just show up and follow squads out into the bush. The first time he heard Jimi Hendrix was during an ambush. He and a young, Black soldier were hiding behind a wall while bullets whizzed over head. The soldier pulled out a portable tape player, something very new at the time, and started playing "Are You Experienced" Herr looked at him and the soldier said, "Might as well, we ain't goin' nowhere for a while."
